Priest Urges Leaders to Reduce Divisive Politics 2023

A delegation of pastors from Embu County encouraged politicians to tone down their rhetoric in order to prevent dividing the nation.

The leaders, led by Bishop Moses Masamba of the Anglican Church of Kenya (A.C.K) Mbeere Diocese, urged the leaders of Kenya to refrain from expressing certain attitudes that are intended to instigate and divide the public.

For peaceful cohabitation, the Bishop asked the leaders of Kenya to consider one another and maintain the utmost respect for one another.

He requested the Kenya Kwanza Government to end the nation’s deadlock.

In addition, he asked the Kenya Kwanza Government to terminate the current impasse in the nation, as it is negatively impacting the economy.

He also stated that the impasse is impacting the education sector in Kenya, particularly schools located in cities where there have been large movements.

The Bishop of the Diocese of Mbeere urged the Kenya Kwanza government and the opposition to focus on achieving a durable solution via dialogue rather than bringing the nation to a standstill.

He advised politicians to focus less on retribution and more on unifying Kenyans and developing the economy.

Masamba also urged the Kenyan leaders to forgive one another and find a way to collaborate for the country’s advancement.

Also, the Bishop asked Kenyan officials to find a way to unite the nation so that its residents may experience peace.

Masamba also encouraged the Governor of Embu, Cecily Mbarire, to find a permanent solution to the water issue that has plagued Mbeere North and South.
